What Does Sarah Teach?
Voice
Sarah utilizes a variety of teaching techniques to help students to execute good vocal technique. These techniques include visual aides, movement, and descriptions of what the proper technique will feel like. Imagery is a powerful tool used to harness the mind to help the body to put into action what was otherwise difficult to master.
Cello
Sarah utilizes the Suzuki method books in combination with hand picked pieces to support the students learning of classical technique.
Math
The focus is on supporting common core learning. In the classroom Sarah utilizes project based learning to teaching math skills. This helps student learning in relation to working on their own; as well as, in groups. Sarah combines project based learning with other subjects to support student learning across multiple subject areas. For example, one of Sarah's favorite projects is to have students write a song that explains a math topic utilizing a melody from a well know song.
Here is an example...
We’re Talkin’ Angles
Lyrics by Ms. Kramer-Harrison
Song to the melody of 59th Street Bridge by Simon and Garfunkle
It’s a song about angles
Formed by two rays and share an endpoint.
Called a vertex. The rays are sides
We’re talkin’ angles.
There are different kinds of angles
Complementary, Supplementary
Vertical, adjacent we’re talkin’, we’re talkin’
We’re talkin’ angles.
Complementary angles
Sum of 90
Supplementary angle
Sum of 180
Vertical angles
form by intersecting lines
They are congruent, so many types
We’re talkin’ angles.

Teaching Reference
To whom it may concern,
I am currently a student of Sarah Kramer-Harrison. I came to Sarah with a lifelong fear of singing out loud and truly believed that singing well was beyond my capabilities.
Sarah was able to show me within one lesson that I had the potential to sing better than I ever imagined. She was extremely conscientious of my fears and made me feel comfortable right away. Her extensive musical training and experience is invaluable to each lesson.
I have no hesitation in recommending her to any educational establishment as she will be a great asset to your professional community.
